Affecting factors on the publication rate of surgical theses from different departments in Turkey

The aim of the study is to investigate and compare factors affecting publication rates otorhinolaryngology (ORL) theses plastic reconstructive surgery (PRS) theses. In order examine ORL PRS specialization published between 2013 2017, author scanned Council Higher Education Thesis Center’s browsing system that contains a list all for terms “ear, nose, throat” “plastic surgery”. All accessible (in total, 689), including 454 235 were included in study. Most authors male (72.5% 84.3%, respectively). conducted state universities (76.9%), whereas most public (87.2%). More than half (50.9%) advisors professor doctors, compared 46.3% advisors. studies clinical (81.7%), while 74.9% experimental animal studies. 24.5% published, 29.7% them accepted SCI- indexed journals. comparison, total 19.6% published. significantly higher increase quality medical publish scientific journals, frequency thesis production should be increased carefully examined, monitored, improved.
